Exercise, nutrition and massage during pregnancy

Pregnancy can be a bewildering time even if it is not your first. The body is changing and so are different aspects of your life, for example eating habits and emotions. Therefore the multidisciplinary team at Pure have compiled a number of very useful treatment packages to provide you with the support and focused individual attention that you need throughout your pregnancy.

Pregnancy Packages that include:

  • Physiotherapy
  • Clinical Pilates
  • Ante and Post Natal Massage
  • Nutrition
  • Strength and Conditioning

Designed to help you each step of the way from preconception, through pregnancy, breastfeeding, weaning, weight loss and beyond.

Pregnancy Packages

Small ante natal groups

  • Physiotherapy assessment or Clinical Pilates assessment (one initial 1 hour apt and one 30 minis follow-up)
  • Nutrition assessment (one hour) and one follow-up (30 mins)
  • 2 massage appointments (2 x 1 hour or 4 x 30 min sessions)
  • 6 weeks of weekly Pilates (50 mins)

All to be completed within a period of 10 weeks
Cost: £500 (if client is in need of further physiotherapy treatment this is charged separately)

Small post natal groups

  • Physiotherapy or Clinical Pilates Assessment (initial apt 1 hour and follow-up 30mins)
  • Nutrition assessment (1 hour) and one follow up (30 mins)
  • 2 massage appointments (2 x 1 hour)
  • 6 weeks of weekly Pilates (50 mins)

Completion within 10 weeks
Cost £500 (if client is in need of further physiotherapy treatment this is charged separately)

Post natal weight management groups

  • Nutrition Assessment (1.5 hours) and follow-up (30 mins)
  • S & C Assessment (1 hour)
  • Small exercise group work (6 sessions in 8 week time period)

Cost £300

Pre conception nutritional assessment (for both partners)

  • 90 minutes

Cost: £120

One – to – One Clinical Pilates (ante and post natal)

This consists of an individual assessment and tailoring of all Pilates exercises for you. You will have the undivided and focussed attention of your physiotherapist for your exercises.

Cost: Initial assessment £85
One: one session £80

One – to – One exercise training (ante and post natal)

This consists of an individual assessment and tailoring of all exercises for you. You will be supervised and encouraged by your strength and conditioning coach for all of your exercises.

Cost: Initial assessment £75
One: one session £75

Following the ante / post natal classes there are is the option to continue with the Pilates class.

Physiotherapy

  • Comprehensive physiotherapy assessment
  • Identification of cause of any pregnancy related pain
  • Any necessary treatment started
  • Treatment plan recorded and an individual specific home exercise program drawn up
  • Review assessments as advised

Clinical Pilates

  • Comprehensive Pilates assessment
  • Classes designed help you cope with the changes that are occur throughout pregnancy
  • Referral to Ante Natal Pilates once you are able to activate the core and your pain is non-limiting
  • Individual specific home exercise program

Nutrition

  • One to one consultation
  • Detailed assessment and plan including recommendations
  • A tailored meal plan with recipes
  • Any recommended supplementation
  • Follow-up consultation where progress is assessed and any necessary changes made to your program.
  • Advice geared towards preconception through to breastfeeding and weaning

Ante and Post Natal Massage

  • Massage to deal with muscles that are excessively tight and any areas where pain is being experienced.
  • Aimed at reducing stress/tension in the main postural muscles and specific techniques will be used to lengthen and release inhibited areas.
  • Focus on the areas that are prone to tightness from the demands placed on your body from motherhood i.e. from feeding, carrying, and lifting your baby.

Strength and Conditioning Assessment and sessions

  • Exercise for post natal recovery. Not only will it help by getting you back in shape and regain fitness, it will also improve your self-esteem and confidence and boost your energy levels. Exercise is also a great way of combating any stress and anxiety you may be feeling.
  • Strength & conditioning assessment focusing on flexibility, core & postural strength & aerobic fitness
  • Supervised sessions where technique & progress can be monitored.
  • Initial focus on regaining pelvic floor, core and postural strength
  • Aerobic fitness through low impact activities such as brisk walking, aqua exercise or swimming.
