Soft Tissue Injury Forum (STIF)

Pure Sports Medicine's Soft Tissue Injury Forum is a series of evening lectures delivered by Sports Medicine professionals. This series was specifically written for Sports Rehabilitators, Trainers and Therapists; but all health professionals are welcome.

The first of our series was entitled:

'Therapeutic Assessment and Rehabilitation of Shoulder Pain and Dysfunction'

Date: 7.00pm and 8:30pm on Tuesday April 5th, 2005.

Place: David Lloyd Gym, Kensington

Speakers: Dr Chris Bradshaw and Claire Small

Chris joined Pure Sports Medicine, as a Sports Physician, from the Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre in Melbourne. He has spoken extensively on the subject of differential diagnosis of shoulder pain, and has worked extensively with elite athletes in the management of these conditions. He is a contributing editor to the well-known text ‘Clinical Sports Medicine’ by Bruckner and Khan, and at the time of the lecture he was the Team Doctor for Fulham Football Club. Claire Small is our Director of Physiotherapy at Pure Sports Medicine. She has been a private practitioner in West London for 10 years and lectures extensively to Postgraduate Physiotherapists and Medics on topics related to muscular control of movement and rehabilitation of the shoulder. She too has many years of experience in the management of the elite athlete.

This lecture, along with those to follow, provide a great opportunity to meet with other colleagues treating both elite & amateur sports people along with clinicians interested in Sports Medicine, and to expand your knowledge in the management of shoulder pathology.

For those who participated in this lecture, we hope you enjoyed it.  If you are interested in further lectures please watch this space for further details.
