“While the approach of physiotherapists may differ,

"The goal is always the same – to provide people with the best quality of life by reducing or preventing disability. Exercise is one of the main tools to achieve these goals.”

“Physiotherapy is an exciting profession; it is always growing, developing and refining itself. I strongly believe that physiotherapy can benefit people and hence I am passionate about applying its principles. My work motivation and satisfaction comes from helping patients and athletes to manage their injuries to return to the sport or activity they love as quickly as possible, and educating them to make relevant lifestyle changes to prevent further injury. I also enjoy the opportunity of constantly meeting interesting people - whether they are an ‘All Black’ or simply someone who just has a good story to tell.

Exercise and fitness are important as they are key to injury prevention and rehabilitation. While the approach of physiotherapists may differ, the goal is always the same – to provide people with the best quality of life by reducing or preventing disability. Exercise is one of the main tools to achieve these goals.

Sports Medicine, physiotherapy and exercise physiology are truly exciting fields to be involved with. It keeps me constantly challenged and creates a healthy team environment where you receive regular input from others outside of your discipline. I love being involved in sport as it displays a group of individuals’ dedication and commitment to common goals.

A highlight of my physiotherapy career has been the completion of my Masters degree. I enjoyed the experience, improved my breadth of knowledge, and enhanced my clinical skills. I have also enjoyed my time as a physiotherapist travelling with touring sport teams and the challenges that provides.

In my free time, I am keen on the outdoors and sport in general. I am married and have recently moved from New Zealand with my wife. We both enjoy an adventure!”
