“Training the elite population is an absolute privilege as both a trainer and a physiotherapist. To witness elite athletes take a backward step from injury and then have them rise up over adversity to dominate at the top of their sport once again really is fulfilling”

David is a unique specialist in the fact he works both as a strength and conditioner and a physiotherapist. He has had over 8 years within the sporting industry and initially graduated from the University of Wollongong with an undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise and Science. David has worked both with individuals and elite sporting teams within the sporting industry including hockey, cricket, track and field, football and golf.

After training many elite individuals at this level, injury can occur as a result of high training loads and David decided to understand this process in more detail. He went on to further study his postgraduate qualification completing his Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney. His physiotherapy experience stems from rehabilitation with the general population and with National level athletes of which he finds his greatest passion.

His core specialisations include high end rehabilitation with particular regard to post surgical and chronic pathologies such as lower back pain and anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction within the musculoskeletal sphere. He has also had great success working with those patients requiring programmes aimed at weight loss and improved fitness as part of their holistic injury management strategy.

“Training the elite population is an absolute privilege as both a trainer and a physiotherapist. To witness elite athletes take a backward step from injury and then have them rise up over adversity to dominate at the top of their sport once again really is fulfilling. It is an absolute privilege to train elite athletes as their drive to return to sport and maximise current performance is what gets me out of bed in the morning.

I rehabilitate individuals ranging from Olympic level athletes to your average office worker. Their individualised programs are specifically designed for their precise needs in order to succeed at the goals they have set out. Therefore, it doesn’t matter if the patient is working full time or training full time, their schedule is fundamentally based on their lifestyle

Sport has always been a part of my life and I love seeking new adventures from any walk in life. Whether that be surfing the ideal wave or lifting my personal best weight in the gym, I pride myself on getting results through hard work and discipline. I have found that disciplining yourself through consistent goal setting every day, helps drive one’s journey of successfully attaining what it is you want out of life”
