“Being able to turn a passion into a career is an amazing thing to experience, being able to transfer that passion to others is my aim.”

Dave has a Diploma in Fitness as an Exercise Specialist, and is a certified Australian Weightlifting Federation coach. Before relocating to the UK, Dave worked as a trainer for the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS).  Over his 2 years with the AIS he worked with a range of clients, from the elderly in rehabilitation and mobility, right though to top grade Rugby and Aussie Rules teams and players. He currently works on a full time basis within Pure Sports Medicine and also assists with the Strength and Conditioning of Guinness premiership Rugby team Worcester Warriors.

Dave’s highlights include:

  • Helping a federal police officer pass all his fitness tests to regain full employment.

  • Helping a young man regain his fitness and confidence after a motorbike accident left him paralyzed.

  • Training Ainslie Football Club junior squad in pre season conditioning to see them go through the season and win the premiership.

  • Getting the opportunity to work with the best Strength and Conditioners, Sports Physicians and Physiotherapists around, right here at Pure Sports Medicine.

"I have spent my whole life involved in sport both individual and team and it has been a major contributing factor to the person I am today. The team sport environment in particular, having a group of people around you, all working to a common goal is a great thing to experience first hand, and really brings the best out in everyone.

Seeing positive change in clients and athletes alike is a reward in itself, and being a part of that positive change is the reason I work in the health and fitness industry. Being able to turn a passion into a career is an amazing thing to experience, being able to transfer that passion to others is my aim.

I love to be active in every aspect of life and just can’t get enough of training people. The practical element and the social atmosphere involved all makes for a very enjoyable time. Witnessing people, elite or everyday, achieve their goals, be it a personal best run time or just to feel healthier is what gets me out of bed everyday raring to go."
