New Zealand born, Simon left his home country in 2002 where he had been working for Carter Holt Harvey, which, at that time, was a subsidiary of International Paper and the largest wood products company in Australasia. On arrival in the UK Simon began consulting on a project basis for Network Rail, BP, and British Telecom.
