Ultrasound guided injections are recommended for injuries where an injection needs to be delivered precisely into the injury site. All of our Sports Doctors have undergone specialised training in order to be able to carry out these procedures.
Our Sports Doctors may at times recommend the use of a doppler ultrasound scan when administering an ultrasound guided injection, as it allows the Doctor to see the blood flow around the scanned area.
If you do require an ultrasound guided injection, it is possible for the Sports Doctor to administer this during your initial 35 minute consultation. We suggest calling your insurance company before your appointment if you think you may need an ultrasound guided injection, otherwise you may need to have the procedure on a follow-up appointment in order to be covered.
